Human voices here, at last!

Postby t_stoned » Fri Jul 23, 2010 3:45 pm

Oops, fresh air here! If you need any quite fresh info about Hempcity I could share it with you though
If you need to smoke tobacco without problems go to the Indica. I think it's the best "old school"-coffeeshop in Haarlem now. They still have best coffee served in Haarlem's coffeeshops and they only have volcano and verdamper vaporizers for non-smoker (I gave up smokig 1 year ago so that factor is so important for me  ).
Another places to chill - High Times and Empire with nice pr/quality products (about 6e/g) and Birdy with jelly if you like it.
Amnesia from the delivery WWortel has to sell now is not so good, but it is my honour opinion... Choose better Cheese. if you like strong stoned indicas they have new arrival 9e/g with long Dutch name, can't remember it now, sorry. Veery good smoking before the bed or to relax for sure.

I saw Nol last time about two month ago in Indica smoking jointje and speaking with locals in first part of Juny before local elections. A couple of days ago I asked "by the way" about Nol by his niece Kim ( budtender in Indica at that moment), she said Nol is still alive and is in Alora right now.

Honestly speaking it is not an old Hempcity and not an old WWortel as 10 or even 5 years ago. Haarlem became very prosperous city with live cost comparable to old part of A'dam I suppose (rent cost, food, belongings etc.). More commerce- less soul - that's the actual trend in Hempcity I'd like to say. Don't expect so friendly clubby spirit from coffeeshops even WWortel they had a couple of years ago though :(

I return from vac in last days of August,if you will be in Haarlem since end of August we could find the time to share the joint and to talk about all the things

Hello tstoned,

nice to see you man and thanks for your update and thank you for taking the time to share the infos with us.
Haarlem may have lost the "Hempcity-Spirit" but it is still a great place to live and to visit.
The Haarlemer coffeeshop scene definitely suffered a set back from my experience (e.g. had some dirty weed from Take away in Jan., annoying ID checks-which I can understand but its still annoying, shops closures from time to time, raids, cops that take a piss..).
I m always happy to see Ferry as the budtender he is a very nice guy.
Any way I will be in Haarlem in August to do some work. I hope to find some time for a smoke.

See you guys.

Ernest, thanks for supporting, you are really "The last of the Mohicans" refreshing this forum from time to time.
Yes, anyway Haarlem is still a great place to live and to chill but NOT TO WORK!
I think you undestand me how to hard to work in Haarlem in summer watching locals boating down the river and drinking cold champagne though
Hope see you in Hempcity..

Thank you Tstoned.
Yeah I absolutely see what you are talking about.
The best thing is to work in Amsterdam and to live in Haarlem.
I m the last Mohican because, at one day I would like to meet all forum members including Nol in the Indica CS, to start a big fat smoke out.
And another reason is that I bloody love Haarlem and the Willie Wortel chain. I know they have seen better days but it is my home base.
I heard from other forums that Indica sells "Gruwelijk", which is said to be an knock out smoke. I will try it soon and give you a feedback.
Tstoned my green bro when will you be there in Aug.?

Yeah pretty sad news.
Other shops were also closed temporarily,e.g Maximilian (think they had too much in stock), Birdy (minors), Regine (minors), Teehuis (minors) and of course Sativa( too much in stock i think).
Lets hope for better days guys.
Nol does a wonderful job, I really appreciate his hard work.

BTW good to see you fil.

Yes! that's what I'm talking about in my post- "new arrival - strong indica with long Dutch name", it was Gruwelijk, sure! Killing smoke, not for the morning I believe. Just after second balloon (I used Volcano) I nearly fell asleep on the chair by the bud-counter in Indica

I changed my dates a litle bit because I have to move to new aparts I found in A'dam Centrum, cheeper price than in Haarlem by the way. I will be there since 26th September, for sure! ... If you still will be in Haarlem we could make a toker-meeting in Indica to discuss all the actual things and trends

"Correction" to your post, Ernest: The best thing is NOT to work but to have enough coins to live in Amsterdam or better in Haarlem   .

Ok Tstoned the "Gruwlijk" is on my list.
I will be in Haarlem in August so no meeting at the Indica in Sept.
Any other new strains on their menus?
They always have Cheese and Amnesia in stock but they never ever had NYCD again. That sucks because they had beautiful batches.

No problem, we have enough time before "rights" close all the coffeshops
In July they hadn't any new buds, except that Gruwelijk - Amnezia, Cheese,Sticky Fingers, Willies choice.

Think "geek" sounds not bad as translation for that Dutch word.
Ernest tell us about fresh impressions how geek is gruwelijk..

Hello Hempcitizen!
What a disappointment, the Gruwelijk was not on the menu at the Indica CS. However, they had some lekker Cheese, the Amnesia was ok but I m a White Widow lover and Indica had always a top White Widow or Willies Choice, but this time the WW was total crap. Tstoned as u said it is not like before... The Budtender was also not very friendly... But the Cheese was great at 10€.Other strains on their menu: Chronic, Cheese, Amnesia, Thai, White Widow and others, I dont remember.Willies Choice wasn't listed, pretty sad as it was one of my all-time favorites.
After the disappointment at the Indica I went to CS Empire, they had some mindblowing Lavender Haze (12€). Very intense and strong fruity taste. Highly recommended. That was the only strain I bought from Empire. Other strains they carry: Blue Buddah,Amnesia, Super Silver, Lavender and White Widow. Sorry I dont remember all, thanks to the Lavender.
High Time became my new favorite. Top notch White Widow and Diesel. The White Widow had a very storng flavor and stone. Cheap at 7€. The Diesel is my all time favorite. Little nugs but the smell and taste is extraordinary, at 9€ a steal. Another strain I tried was the the Blue Buddah, very nice taste and strong effects. I m not a hash smoker but, they had some nice looking examples, like their House special Ice Hash for 15€ in a Prerolled Joint tube. Other strains on their menu: Santa Maria, High Times Special, White Widow, Big Buddah, Blue Buddah, Amnesia Haze, Silver Haze and Thai.
Another shop I visited was the Easy Going, they had some Amnesia Haze and Super Silver Haze in stock but I went for the White Widow which was perfect cured. But, I prefer the WW of the High Times CS.
Birdy will open the doors soon, I think at the beginning of September. Regine reopened after they were closed for selling to minors.

Gruwelijk= creepy

P.S. I smoked more than one Jay for our Hempcity Forum. I dedicated one pure Diesel Jay at the Kenaupark. A real fatty.

Best wishes my green brothers and sisters!

Wow man, that was a great trip report. It would be cool if we had a place for all the forum users to post trip and smoke reports with pics like the ones that Nol used to do. But anyway that was a great trip report Ernest, do you have any pics?

Thanks AmeriSkunk.
No, I didn't take any pictures, was way too busy. Had to help a good friend with his house renovation.
I also tested some strains from Amsterdam.
I think that the biggest disappointment was the Grey Area. They have top genetics but it is pointless if you sell the bud still wet. All four examples I got from GA were absolutely wet. I paid like almost 50€ . The examples were: Kacy Jones, C14 a G13 cross, La Women and La Confidential, none of the examples were good or average. EDIT: The C13 bud was full with seeds. Poor growing but their dealers are always very friendly and nice.
The Rokerjie (sp?) had some awesome Sour Diesel, finger licking good. For only 9€. You could easily sell this strain for 13€. I think I mentioned that I prefer Diesel strains...
The Dampkring had some G13xAmnesia, too pricey at 13€ and definitely not worth. I went then for my favorites White Choco and White Russian. The WC was a little bit more intense when it comes to taste, but when it come to the effects the WR takes the lead.
Oh and I have to mention that almost every shop was packed.
I also tried some Amnesia, Cheese and La Confidential from Paradox, all superb. They have only pre weighed bags but they do sell quality food, drinks and weed. Their La Confidential was the best example in Amsterdam. Their House special White Widow aka ACE was also very nice and strong. More important, they have the most friendliest dealer in town, in my opinion.
Another bummer was the Super Lemon Kush from the Greenplace 13€. It smelled superb but the taste and high lacked... while their cheap AK47 made me grin for hours. Sometime they have some really good bud but I found the dealers always uncommunicative.
I also went to the 420 Coffeeshop to get some of their NYCD for 12€/g but I asked to see their Neville's Haze at first it looked good but then the budtender opened the NYCD tub and I saw and smelled the bud and said: "Ok, two grams of the NYCD!Thats it!" Delicious! full sweet & fruity flavor with a beautiful daytime high!PERFECT!
In my experience, most of the hyped strains were poor. Not because of their genetics but, they were grown badly or harvested way too early. My dutch friend told me that must Dutch weed smokers stick to the old school strains than to the new varieties. Now I know why.

Edit: We should downsize the forum. Less spammers and less work for maintenance.
But, its not me who makes decisions here. :D
